Producer and mix engineer focused on clarity, impact, and character.
I’m a Melbourne-based producer and mix engineer working across music and film, with over 15 years of experience shaping records and sound for screen.
I run Ferntree Studios, where I focus on recording, mixing, and mastering for bands and solo artists. My approach is adaptable rather than formulaic. Every project has different needs, and my role is to support the artist’s vision without flattening the personality out of it. That usually means strong performances, detailed editing, and mixes that balance punch, clarity, and character.
Alongside my studio work, I’ve been a lecturer at Collarts since 2016, teaching audio production and post-production. Teaching has sharpened my own process and keeps my focus on fundamentals, critical listening, and making decisions for musical reasons rather than technical novelty.
Whether I’m working on a record or a film project, the goal is always the same. Make work that translates, connects, and holds up outside the studio.
My work is performance-focused rather than preset-driven. I’m meticulous with editing, but always with an ear on feel and musical intent. Communication is clear and collaborative throughout the process, and mixes are built for impact, balance, and translation across systems. The workflow adapts to the project, not the other way around.
If you’re serious about your project and want someone who’ll treat it with care and intent, I’m always open to a conversation.
