I recently had the pleasure of travelling to NSW to produce a record at The Grove Studios in country NSW with Sydney progrockers JOVA. Such an amazing studio with a rich history; clients such as INXS, Silverchair and Something for Kate, just to name a few.
The studio is fitted with a beautiful SSL G series console and contains a slew of Neve 1064’s. We stayed on premises and in quite some comfort I might add. With the massive feast that got cooked up over the week and the great facilities, I think I may have found a production oasis.
Needless to say the golfcourse, the quad bike course and the 22 acres of wilderness to explore wasn’t enough to distract us the task at hand; laying down a 5 track EP in 5 days. Fuck.
No, no, it’s ok we did it! And I even finished off the mix back at Sing Sing South for your listening pleasure.
The band have made a few few songs available to stream on their Reverbnation. This song Saccharin is a special one. A particularly moody song with ambient guitar cello bows. Really cool. Check it out:
Here’s a few more photos from The Grove, make sure to check out JOVA‘s page for more info!
