Recording, Mixing, and Mastering
I work across music and film, specialising in recording, mixing, and production for bands and solo artists who care about clarity, impact, and intent. Some projects arrive fully recorded and need shaping at the mix stage, while others benefit from hands-on recording and production from the outset.
Everything here is built around one goal: serve the song or story first.
Music Mixing
Mixing that serves the song
I work with bands and solo artists to turn strong recordings into finished records that translate with confidence. My approach to mixing isn’t about presets, speed, or chasing trends. It’s about decision-making, balance, and understanding what the song actually needs.
I focus on clarity, punch, and depth without stripping character or energy. Editing is detailed where it needs to be, but never at the expense of feel. The end result should sound intentional, cohesive, and consistent across systems.
I work remotely or in person with clear communication throughout the process. Artists are kept in the loop, revisions are purposeful, and the goal is always the same: make the song feel undeniable.
Recording and Production
Capturing performances that matter
Recording and production are central to how I approach sound. Strong mixes start with strong performances, and my role at the recording stage is to help artists capture takes that already feel right before any processing begins.
Sessions are built around feel rather than technical spectacle. The focus is on performance, tone, and momentum, with just enough structure to keep things moving without interrupting the creative flow. Direction is offered where useful, but never forced.
Recording and production work can involve full tracking sessions, overdubs, or collaborative production input, depending on the needs of the project.
MASTERING
The final step before release
I offer mastering for projects I’ve mixed and for external mixes that need a fresh perspective. My approach is corrective and transparent – I’m not trying to reinvent the mix, I’m trying to make it translate.
Mastering is about clarity, balance, and making sure the track holds up across different playback systems. I focus on tonal balance, dynamics, and loudness that suits the genre without crushing the life out of it.
I deliver masters for any format you need – streaming and digital platforms, CD with DDP files, and vinyl-specific masters with the EQ and level adjustments required for cutting. If you’re not sure what you need, I can help you figure that out.
If you’re after a particular sound or referencing other releases, send them through. I’ll get as close as the mix allows.
Film and Screen
Sound for film and visual media
Alongside music, I work in film across sound design, dialogue, music, and post-production. I’ve contributed to short films and full-length features in both sound and production roles, with work recognised nationally and internationally.
The same principles apply here as in music. Clarity, intention, and emotional translation come first. The aim is always to support the story without drawing attention to the process.
Film projects are discussed on a case-by-case basis.
How I Work
I’m collaborative, direct, and high-energy. Artists and filmmakers often come to me not just for sound quality, but for momentum and perspective. I’m known for clear communication, strong aesthetic instincts, and the ability to draw better performances out of people without overcomplicating the process.
Decisions are made in service of the work, not the tools. The process stays flexible, focused, and grounded in what the project actually needs.
Start a Project
If you have a project you’re serious about and want someone who’ll treat it with care, intent, and attention to detail, I’m always open to a conversation.
